Service to eight nonstop destinations will return to the Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport (SDF) by the end of the summer, following temporary service suspensions in March and April due to the global COVID-19 pandemic.
“This is great news to see the return of these routes to SDF,” said Dan Mann, Executive Director of the Louisville Regional Airport Authority. “We believe the airlines are seeing the interest from area travelers and are responding by resuming service to these cities. This speaks very highly of the Louisville market and leaves us optimistic for the future.”
The following destinations have or will resume service from Louisville:
“With these additions, we continue to offer nonstop service to more than 30 destinations,” added Mann. “Considering the uncertain outlook from a few months ago amid the pandemic, we are thrilled that SDF has maintained our strong standing with the airlines and this level of air service. We appreciate the community’s continued support as we rebound to our pre-pandemic passenger levels.”
The Louisville Regional Airport Authority has worked closely with its business partners and concession operators on a number of preventative procedures and enhancements to ensure SDF is ready as travelers return to the skies. This includes increased cleaning protocols, quadrupling the number of hand sanitizing stations in the terminal and the installation of plexiglass barriers at all customer counters and social distancing markers in queuing areas. The Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport is served by six airlines offering flights to more than 30 nonstop destinations, including 19 of the region’s top 20 domestic markets. With just one stop, travelers from across the region can reach more than 460 destinations in the U.S. and worldwide.
