Southwest Begins New Nonstop Service to Dallas
January 7, 2019
On Monday, January 7 Southwest Airlines celebrated the beginning of new daily nonstop service to Dallas Love Field (DAL) in Dallas, TX from Louisville International Airport (SDF). With this service, additional connections are available to select cities across the Southwest network. The airline will operate the flight using a mix of 143-seat and 175-seat Boeing 737 aircraft.
“Southwest adding service to their ninth destination from Louisville International Airport speaks volumes to their confidence in the Louisville market and the momentum this airport and region have,” said Dan Mann, Executive Director of the Louisville Regional Airport Authority. “It’s great to kick-off 2019 with a new destination and we only foresee more growth in our future.”
This new route is the second Southwest destination in the last 12 months, following the start of service to William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) in October 2018.
“Dallas is a strong business center for our community, and it’s great to see more options and direct flights from Louisville International Airport,” said Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer. “The first day of service for any new, nonstop route is a good day for Louisville and its citizens.”
With the addition of Dallas Love Field, Southwest offers 11 daily nonstop flights to nine destinations from Louisville including Baltimore, Chicago-Midway, Denver, Houston-Hobby, Las Vegas, Orlando, Phoenix and Tampa. Tickets are now available at www.southwest.com.
Louisville International Airport is served by six airlines offering flights to 33 nonstop destinations including 19 of the region’s top 20 domestic markets. With just one stop, travelers from across the region can reach 170 international destinations in 81 countries on six continents.
