On Thursday, November 15, Frontier Airlines celebrated the beginning of new, nonstop service to Orlando International Airport (MCO) in Orlando, FL from Louisville International Airport (SDF). With this service, additional connections are available to select cities across the Frontier network. Nonstop flights to Orlando are offered three-times weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, using a 180-seat Airbus A320.
“Frontier’s expansion is a great endorsement of our city’s momentum,” said Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer. “In the last two years, we’ve increased the number of non-stops in and out of our city by 50 percent, and we intend to see that grow even more in coming years.” Orlando marks Frontier’s third nonstop destination from Louisville. Earlier this year, flights to Denver International Airport (DEN) began in May, followed by service to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) in August.
“We are excited to see Frontier’s continued expansion of low fare nonstop flights at SDF,” said Dan Mann, Executive Director of the Louisville Regional Airport Authority. “Orlando is one of our most popular destinations, and we will now have three airlines offering nonstop service.” Frontier becomes the third airline offering low fare flight options from Louisville to Orlando, joining Southwest Airlines who also flies to Orlando International Airport. Allegiant Air provides nonstop service to Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB).
