Louisville International Terminal Enhancement Construction Update 8/8/16
September 8, 2016
Construction continues on the $9.5 million Louisville International Airport Terminal Enhancement Project. In addition, HMS Host (food-and-beverage) and Paradies Lagardère (gift-and-news) combined are investing more than $8 million in new outlets and retail stores. Work on Phase 2C-2 in Concourse B (near Gates B16 through B19) was recently completed. Installation of small areas of terrazzo floor in Concourse A (near Gate A5 and Chili’s Too) and Concourse B (near Stars of Louisville and near Gates B11 and B15) is also finished.
Before the Security Checkpoint (Landside Terminal)
Construction on Phase 4A on the departures (upper) level will begin on Monday, August 8 and continue through September. This phase includes installing terrazzo flooring on the far east side of the departures (upper) level. Because of these enhancements, the following adjustments will take place:
• Exterior Doors: The far east exterior doors on the departures (upper) level will be temporarily closed. For access to all ticket counters, proceed west to the next set of entry doors.
• Southwest Airline Ticket Counter: The Southwest Airline ticket counter will temporarily relocate to the west, next to the Delta Air Line ticket counter. Beginning Tuesday, August 9, the Woodford Reserve Bar and Grill will be permanently closed as construction will begin on the new Book and Bourbon Southern Kitchen, which should open in October.
At the Security Checkpoint
Beginning Monday, August 8 through Thursday, August 11, new carpet will be installed at the TSA Security Checkpoint overnight. Passenger screening should not be impacted by this work. Note: Temporary construction signs are installed throughout the terminal to direct guests during the construction project—which should be finished in fall 2016.
