Parking Lot Improvements
August 5, 2011
Louisville International Airport will begin a pavement-rehabilitation project to improve its surface (long-term) parking lot on Monday, August 8. The project, which will be completed November 16, includes sealing cracks, recoating and restriping the 1,440-space lot. To minimize the inconvenience to parking patrons, only one-half of the lot will be closed at a time and the upper level of the parking garage has been designated for long-term parking at the surface-lot rate of $9 a day. In fact, by opening additional parking on the upper level of the garage, more long-term parking spaces will be provided during this project than would normally be available in the surface lot alone.
To receive the surface-parking lot rates patrons must enter the upper level of the garage from the upper/departure roadway in front of the terminal building and exit through the parking garage. Special orange-and-black signs placed along the airport’s roadway and in parking areas will alert travelers to the construction and direct them to the upper level entrance of the parking garage. Courtesy shuttle service to and from the surface (long-term) parking lot will continue during the project.
