Skip Miller, Executive Director of the Louisville Regional Airport Authority, recently announced Pat Apone has accepted the position of Deputy Executive Director of Finance and Administration, effective Monday, August 1. Apone will oversee financial and administrative functions for the Airport Authority including finance, accounting, property management, purchasing and procurement, parking services and capital improvement program funding. She will also manage the financial operations for the Airport Authority’s sister organization, the Louisville Renaissance Zone Corporation and its owners association.
“We’re pleased to welcome Pat to the executive management team,” said Miller. “She has almost 20 years of leadership experience in the aviation industry and her extensive knowledge will be an asset to our organization.” Prior to joining the Airport Authority, Apone most recently worked as the Director of Airports for the Horry County Department of Airports in South Carolina, which includes Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR) and three general aviation airports. Throughout her career, she held several positions with the Horry County Department of Airports including Assistant Director of Airports, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Assistant Director of Finance and Administration. Apone is an accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E.) through the American Association for Airport Executives (AAAE). She is also a member of the Finance Committee for AAAE and Airports Council International North America (ACI-NA). Apone has a master’s degree in Business Administration from Winthrop University and a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance from Coastal Carolina University.
