SDF NEXT UPDATE: Lower Terminal Roadway Reopens to Traffic
October 1, 2020
The lower terminal roadway (baggage claim) at the Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport (SDF) is now reopen for vehicular and pedestrian traffic. This area was temporarily closed for nearly a month due to the installation of the elevated, covered pedestrian walkways from the Jerry E. Abramson Terminal to the second level of the parking garage as part of on-going improvements at the airport. The new elevated, covered pedestrian walkways are scheduled to open in late October 2020.
All non-commercial passenger pick-ups, ride-sharing services such as Uber and Lyft and the public TARC bus service have now resumed service from the lower terminal roadway. However, taxi, limo and hotel shuttle pick-up will remain in the open lot immediately outside the baggage claim doors on the terminal’s far west side (the former rental car lot) until early November. This is due to on-going work in the area known as the commercial curb.
Access to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection facility and loading dock for terminal deliveries remains accessible along the lower roadway. Click here to view a roadway map for SDF.
