October 3, 2024

Additional flights to Top 10 market provides even more options

Today the Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport (SDF) celebrates the return of Southwest Airlines’ nonstop, daily service to Dallas-Love Field (DAL) in Dallas, TX. With this service, hundreds of additional connections to cities across Southwest’s network are available to travelers in the region.

“Dallas is the seventh largest market for SDF and these additional flights from Southwest provide even more options for our passengers,” said Dan Mann, Executive Director of the Louisville Regional Airport Authority. “Following our record-setting momentum from last year, as well as our busiest summer to date, it’s always good for the community when our airline partners continue to invest in our market.”

As a Top 10 market for the airport, approximately 480 passengers fly between Louisville and Dallas each day. Dallas was the first city in Southwest’s network and has been home to the airline’s headquarters since their founding in 1971. Today, Dallas-Love Field sees nearly 210 daily Southwest departures to 71 cities.

With the resumption of Dallas-Love Field, Southwest offers nonstop service to 12 cities from SDF including to Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago-Midway, Denver, Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Houston-Hobby, Las Vegas, Orlando, Phoenix and Tampa. For nonstop service to Dallas, the airline will operate the flight using a mix of 143-seat and 175-seat Boeing 737 aircraft. Airfare is now available for purchase at www.southwest.com.
